These terms govern your use of the OWN YR LOOK website at ownyrlook.com, including its articles, guides, directory profiles, enquiry forms and other resources.
Own YR Look is operated by Annabelle Baugh, a sole trader trading as OWN YR LOOK (“OYL”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
2. About OYL
OYL is an independent patient-information and plastic-surgeon directory platform. Its purpose is to help women access cosmetic-surgery information, understand potential risks and identify appropriately qualified specialist plastic surgeons.
OYL is not a clinic, hospital, medical practice, professional regulator or emergency service. We do not provide medical treatment or act as an agent for any surgeon, clinic, hospital or patient.
3. Information, not medical advice
All information provided by OYL is for general educational and informational purposes only.
OYL does not:
● provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment;
● assess whether a procedure or surgeon is suitable for you;
● recommend a particular procedure, surgeon, clinic or hospital;
● replace a consultation with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional; or
● guarantee the result, safety or suitability of any procedure.
Cosmetic surgery carries risks and results vary between individuals. You should seek personalised advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about surgery, treatment or your health.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on OYL.
4. Medical emergencies
OYL must not be used for medical emergencies, urgent symptoms or postoperative complications requiring prompt assessment.
In the UK, call 999 for a life-threatening emergency. Contact NHS 111, an appropriate healthcare professional or your treating surgeon or clinic for urgent advice.
If you are outside the UK, contact the appropriate emergency or healthcare service in your location.
5. The OYL directory
OYL checks surgeons against its published membership and verification criteria using the information and sources available at the time of review.
Directory inclusion means only that OYL found that the surgeon met the applicable published criteria when the relevant checks were completed. It does not constitute a personal recommendation, medical referral, endorsement, warranty or guarantee.
A directory listing does not guarantee:
● a surgeon will remain registered, licensed or free from restrictions;
● a surgeon will remain a member of a professional association;
● a clinic or surgical facility will retain its registration or accreditation;
● no complaint, investigation, sanction or other concern exists or will arise;
● all information supplied by the surgeon or held on public registers is complete;
● a surgeon or procedure is suitable for a particular patient; or
● treatment will be safe, successful or free from complications.
Registrations, professional memberships, facilities and regulatory circumstances can change after an OYL Directory profile has been checked.

6. Your responsibility to make independent checks
You must not rely on an OYL profile as your only source of information when choosing a surgeon, clinic or procedure.
Before making a decision, you should independently confirm matters including:
● the surgeon’s current registration or licence;
● recognised specialist status in plastic surgery;
● relevant qualifications and professional-association memberships;
● whether any restrictions or conditions currently apply to their practice;
● the registration or accreditation of the clinic or surgical facility;
● professional insurance or indemnity arrangements;
● the surgeon’s experience in the procedure being considered;
● consultation, consent and cooling-off arrangements;
● complication and emergency arrangements;
● aftercare and revision policies; and
● the legal and regulatory protections available in the country where treatment will take place
You should ask the surgeon and clinic direct questions and consider obtaining an independent medical opinion where appropriate.
You remain responsible for deciding whether to contact, consult or receive treatment from a surgeon or clinic.
7. Surgeons, clinics and other third parties
Surgeons, clinics, hospitals and other providers featured or mentioned on OYL operate independently from us. They are responsible for their own representations, services, clinical decisions, prices, contracts, consent processes, treatment and aftercare.
OYL is not a party to any agreement between you and a surgeon, clinic, hospital or other provider.
Any concerns about treatment or services should normally be raised directly with the provider. Where appropriate, you may also contact the relevant medical regulator, facility regulator, professional body, complaints service, police or legal adviser.
OYL cannot determine clinical negligence, professional misconduct or entitlement to compensation.
8. Accuracy and availability
OYL aims to provide accurate, responsible and useful information. However, medical knowledge, professional guidance, product information, registrations and regulatory circumstances can change.
We do not guarantee that every item of website content will always be complete, current, error-free or applicable to every country or individual.
Publication dates and review dates should be considered when using the website. You should verify important information through current official sources and qualified professionals.
We may update, correct, withdraw, restrict or remove website content without notice where reasonably necessary.
9. Editorial content and individual cases
OYL may report on regulatory action, patient experiences, safety concerns, investigations, court proceedings or matters reported by other reputable sources.
An allegation, complaint or investigation does not necessarily establish wrongdoing. OYL will aim to distinguish appropriately between allegations, findings, reporting, commentary and opinion.
The publication of an individual experience does not mean that every patient will have the same experience or outcome.

10. Commercial content
Eligibility for inclusion in the OYL directory cannot be purchased. Surgeons must meet OYL’s applicable membership criteria before receiving an active profile.
Some eligible directory members may pay for optional profile enhancements, advertising or other services. Paid features do not amount to stronger clinical verification or a guarantee of superior care.
Advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate links and paid prominence will be disclosed in accordance with OYL’s Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure Policy.
11. Third-party websites
OYL may link to medical regulators, professional associations, surgeons, clinics, charities, news publishers, research papers and other third-party websites.
Links are provided for information and convenience. Unless expressly stated, a link does not mean that OYL controls, approves or endorses the third party or all information, products or services it provides.
OYL is not responsible for the content, security, accessibility, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites. You use third-party websites and services at your own discretion and subject to their terms.
12. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, OYL owns or licenses the copyright, trademarks and other intellectual-property rights in the website and its original content, including its name, logo, branding, articles, graphics, directory structure, verification materials and downloadable resources.
You may:
● access and read the website for personal, non-commercial use;
● print or save reasonable extracts for your own personal reference; and
● share a link to an OYL page, provided you do so accurately and do not imply an association or endorsement that does not exist.
You must not, without prior written permission:
● reproduce, republish or distribute substantial parts of the website;

13. Acceptable use
You must not:
● use the website unlawfully or fraudulently;
● submit false, misleading, abusive, defamatory or malicious information;
● impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority;
● submit another person’s confidential, medical or personal information without lawful authority;
● attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
● introduce malware or other harmful material;
● interfere with the website’s operation or security; or
● use OYL to send unsolicited marketing or harass another person.
We may restrict access, remove submissions or take other proportionate action where these terms are breached.
14. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

● independent advice, representations, acts or omissions of surgeons, clinics, hospitals or other third parties;
● medical assessments, treatment, aftercare, complications or outcomes;
● decisions made solely or substantially in reliance on general website information;
● information that becomes inaccurate because circumstances changed after publication or verification;
● the content or availability of third-party websites;
● loss caused by a user failing to make reasonable independent checks; or
● loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you began using the website.
OYL does not exclude responsibility for loss directly caused by its own failure to exercise reasonable care and skill where such responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Website availability and security
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors or harmful components.
